A Note from Nathanael

Hey Tribe, I’m a passionate guy! I’m passionate about my lovely wife (we just celebrated 14 years of marriage), my three creative daughters (they are beautiful but their creativity astounds me), and of course I am passionate about theatre! This morning I’ve been contemplating the fact that tomorrow we have 169 second graders from Destin Elementary School coming to the theatre to see literature coming to life on stage- “The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley!” Do you remember your first theatrical experience? How amazed were you? The fact that ECTC can be a part of a child's educational process and expand their creative horizons... I am passionate about that too! The wonder, the empathy, the enhancement of literary knowledge...this passionate guy could go on. I want to thank those who are partnering with us to serve the children of our community through this Theatre for Young Audiences program: Grand Boulevard, isidro dunbar Modern Interiors, Howard Hospitality, the St. Joe Community Foundation, the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County, Silver Sands Premium Outlets, Shimmering Seas Jewelry, and Donna Burgess Gallery. The reality is that ticket admission income does not cover the production expenses and operating costs. We would not be able to provide this important program without their support. Also, exciting news, ECTC is an Impact 100 finalist! We have a 50/50 chance to win $102,000 to help us expand our Theatre for Young Audiences seating capacity by 60%. We at ECTC have already seen the “impact” of the Impact 100 members. Several members have become ECTC VIP Members, donated, and attended our programs. Wow, what an impact indeed! Fingers crossed for Nov 5 when the final voting is done for the 4 grants. I am overwhelmed at the support and generosity of our community, but as we grow we do continually need your help. The reality is though that you are busy, life is busy. So here are some ways you can easily help ECTC:

  • Forward this email to 5 friends that may not know about ECTC! Your recommendation is so much better than any Facebook post or ad we could place.

  • Like ECTC’s Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/ECTheatreCompany/ and share our posts with your circle of friends!

  • Follow us on Instagram ectheatreco and Twitter @ectheatreco

  • Invite some friends to join you at our fundraiser next week, the Emerald Coast Lip Sync Battle. www.ECBattle.com There is still time to register to perform too!

  • Join us and bring some children to “The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley” Saturdays in October or ask your child's teacher about their class coming to ECTC for a field trip to any of our Theatre for Young Audiences shows.

  • Make plans to see a “A Wrinkle in Time” this December.

Thank you so much for being a part of the ECTC tribe. Maybe next time this passionate guy will share where the “tribe” originated. It’s a pretty cool story. Sincerely, Nathanael Fisher, M.F.A. Producing Artistic Director
