EMERALD COAST THEATRE COMPANY RECEIVES $5,000 DONATION
FROM CULTURAL ARTS ALLIANCE
The gift was donated to support ECTC’s Theatre for Young Audiences program
Miramar Beach, Fla. (Sept. 19, 2017) – Emerald Coast Theatre Company (ECTC) has received a $5,000 from the Cultural Arts Alliance (CAA) of Walton County. Led by Jennifer Steele, the CAA is a local arts agency founded in 1993 to support the arts through leadership, advocacy, funding, programs and education.
The generous gift qualifies CAA as a Theatre for Young Audiences TYA) Executive Producer for ECTC’s 2017-2018 season.
Emerald Coast Theatre Company’s Professional Theatre for Young Audiences program showcases professional actors performing productions especially selected for young audience members.
“Jennifer Steele and the CAA has consistently been a supportive friend to ECTC,” said ECTC producing artistic director Nathanael Fisher. Their partnership in helping us reach the children of our community goes beyond the vital grant money and includes their unbridled passion for the benefits children experience with the arts.”
This is the third consecutive year CAA has supported ECTC. In 2015, their financial support helped tour the TYA production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” which was presented to all Walton County elementary schools. Last year, their support enabled ECTC to purchase professional theater lighting in its performance space at 560 Grand Boulevard in Miramar Beach. This year, their funds will again help support ECTC’s TYA program, which will present three productions: “The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley” (Fridays and Saturdays at 10 a.m., October 13-28); “A Mark Twain Storybook” (Fridays and Saturdays at 10 a.m., January 26-February 3); and “Aesop's Fables” (Fridays and Saturdays at 10 a.m., April 6-14, 10 a.m.).
“This type of collaboration is at the heart of everything ECTC does,” Fisher says. “We are more effective as an arts community when we work together. By supporting ECTC, CAA is helping to ensure that the quality of life for our children and our community will continue to improve.”
Since it was founded in 2012 by Nathanael Fisher, MFA, and his wife, Anna Fisher, ECTC’s education programs have reached more than 12,700 children in three counties throughout Northwest Florida.
ECTC’s mission is to enrich and entertain the Emerald Coast community through professional and educational theater. A 501(c)(3), ECTC does not earn enough revenue from ticket sales and tuition and therefore relies on individual and corporate donations to operate its professional year-round programs.
