The gift marks the largest single donation ECTC has received from a local business
Miramar Beach, Fla. (Sept. 6, 2017) – Emerald Coast Theatre Company (ECTC) has received a “modern” gift.
As it nears the launch its 5th anniversary season, ECTC received a donation from a local business that specializes in modern interior design and furnishings. Todd D. Reeves (who is a member of ECTC’s Board of Directors) and Jorge I. Saiz, owners of Isidro Dunbar Modern Interiors (idMI) based in Miramar Beach, recently presented Emerald Coast Theatre Company with a check for $10,000.
The gift is the largest single donation ECTC has received from a local business and qualifies idMI as a Title Sponsor for ECTC’s 2017-2018 season.
“We are so grateful for this generous donation,” said ECTC producing artistic director Nathanael Fisher. “We will put it to good use during our exciting 5th anniversary season, which we have expanded to four productions. The fact that this gift comes from such a well-respected locally owned and operated business about to celebrate its 25th anniversary makes it all the more meaningful.”
Todd Reeves recounts several reasons ECTC is deserving of the donation from idMI: “First, with the government cuts in the funding for the arts, it is very important to us to help keep things going. If we can do that, then we will have young people, and adults enjoying theater, opening their minds to new and creative ideas, and expanding the horizon of the area. Second, we chose to give the amount we did, because we decided to consolidate our giving into one organization. To know that the stewards of the ship, the ECTC Board, Nathanael Fisher and the ECTC company are actually using the money wisely is a very important factor when you are a smaller business.”
Founded in 2012 by Nathanael Fisher, MFA, and his wife, Anna Fisher, ECTC’s mission is to enrich and entertain the Emerald Coast community through professional and educational theater. A 501(c)(3), ECTC does not earn enough revenue from ticket sales and tuition and therefore relies on individual and corporate donations to operate its professional year round programs.
