ECTC finds a home in Grand Boulevard as it launches the 2016-2017 Season

EMERALD COAST THEATRE COMPANY FINDS HOME IN GRAND BOULEVARD AS IT LAUNCHES 2016-17 SEASON

Miramar Beach, FL— (Aug. 31, 2016) As it launches its fourth season this fall, Emerald Coast Theatre Company (ECTC) will be moving into the upper level of 560 Grand Boulevard which offers ample performance space, frontage on Highway 98 not to mention an enviable “address.” This new location will provide ECTC with an official space that will be utilized for professional productions, educational programming, and also improv shows.

"This partnership with Grand Boulevard is huge for Emerald Coast Theatre Company," said Nathanael Fisher, ECTC's Producing Artistic Director. "One of our goals is to help this area become a cultural destination, and this partnership is an exponential step in that direction."

During the 2016-17 season, ECTC will present a variety of professional programs that the Emerald Coast is sure to love. This October and November, Nick Payne’s romantic journey, “Constellations,” recently performed on Broadway by Jake Gyllenhaal and Ruth Wilson, will keep your wheels turning as this two-character drama questions the boundaries of our world. “Constellations” will run Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., with a Sunday matinée at 2 p.m., October 21 through November 6.

This holiday season will welcome a haunting story as told by Charles Dickens himself through the voices of four storytellers. This year’s adaptation of “A Christmas Carol” called “A Dickens Christmas” will be revised with a new twist that highlights the ghostly aspects of the story. Scrooge will be chilled by those infamous apparitions as audiences are warmed by this classic tale. “A Dickens Christmas” performances will run December 9 through 24 on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., withSunday matinées at 2 p.m.

January 2017 aims to please with “Bakersfield Mist,” a hilarious, inspired by true events comedy-drama, that follows unemployed bartender Maude, and art expert Lionel Percy, as they begin to question the true definition of art and the authenticity of people. “Bakersfield Mist” will run from January 27 through February 19 with evening performances Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday matinées at 2 p.m.

ECTC is also proud to announce that its preliminary roster of 2016-2017 sponsors include: Grand Boulevard, St. Joe Foundations, Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County and Culture Build Florida (the Florida Division of Cultural Affairs). Being a non-profit, Emerald Coast Theatre Company appreciates the support of those in the community and is currently looking for the donation of 100 cushioned chairs, a cargo van, and volunteers to help move in and set up the new location.
