2016/2017 Auditions

Season auditions will be Saturday, August 13 at 9:30am. at 560 Grand Boulevard(former Coldwater Creek space). Attendance is preferred but if that is impossible video or appointment auditions will be considered. Email questions toinfo@emeraldcoasttheatre.org Please be prepared to play improv games and have a 45 second dramatic and comedic monologue prepared depending on what play/event auditioning for. Street performers will have 45 seconds to show skill. Callbacks for Constellations will be immediately following, all other callbacks will be held at a later time. Pirate Festival Oct 7-9 (rehearsal the 8th, street performers/show flexible rehearsals prior) ECTC needs 15 atmosphere entertainment pirates/street performers. Requirements: Personal, Friendly, Character driven, Improv skills a plus Constellations by Nick Payne: Rehearsals Oct 1 - Oct 20, Show weekends Oct 1 - Oct 30 or Nov 6. International Hit. Can one word alter the course of your life? Through a dizzying fugue of vignettes, audiences watch as Marianne and Roland’s relationship unfolds across time and space, with each variation sending their relationship on an entirely new trajectory. Science and romance collide in this unusual love story that’s delighted audiences in New York and London.

Roles: Marianne: Female, 30-39 a fiercely intelligent scientist dealing with a terminal illness; though she's a serious professional working in the top 1% of her field, she has a quirky, head-in-the clouds quality; friendly, warm, and quick-witted, comedic chops. Any ethnicities. Roland: Male, 30-39 a charming, laid-back beekeeper; warm and open, with a good sense of humor, earthy and likable. Any ethnicities.

Christmas Carolers Nov 15 - Dec 24 Intermittent contract work as a Christmas Caroler from Destin to Panama City A Dickens Christmas: A Ghostly Story by Charles Dickens, adapted for stage by Nathanael Fisher: Rehearsal Nov 12-Dec 8 (skipping Thanksgiving) shows weekends Dec 9 - 23 or 24. The holiday season's most haunting story as told by Dickens himself through the voices of four storytellers. Scrooge will be chilled by those infamous apparitions as audiences are warmed by the giving objective of this classic tale. Roles: Actor 1: Male (Role has been cast. Scrooge type but able to transform into other characters.) Actor 2: Female, 30-60, Any ethnicities. Actor 3: Male or Female, 18-30, Any ethnicities. Actor 4: Male or Female, any age, proficient at violin, Any ethnicities. Bakersfield Mist by Stephen Sachs: Rehearsal Jan 7 - 26, Shows Jan 27 - Feb 19 Maude, a fifty-something unemployed bartender living in a trailer park, has bought a painting for a few bucks from a thrift store. Despite almost trashing it, she’s now convinced it’s a lost masterpiece by Jackson Pollock worth millions. But when world-class art expert Lionel Percy flies over from New York and arrives at her trailer home in Bakersfield to authenticate the painting, he has no idea what he is about to discover. Roles: Maude Gutman: Female, 40-50s. An unemployed bartender. Stubborn, determined, and cunning. Any ethnicities. Lionel Percy: Male, 50-60s. An art expert. Controlled, but emotionally sensitive.
