Programs are offered in multiple locations across the Emerald Coast

Miramar Beach, Fla. (April 5, 2016) — Emerald Coast Theatre Company (ECTC), a non-profit professional theater company, is proud to announce their educational theater camp schedule for summer 2016.

Classes will begin June 6, and will be offered for preschool aged children through ninth grade. ECTC will offer four different camps divided by age group. All of the camps will end with a final performance for parents and friends to enjoy.

“This will be our fourth year of offering summer camps to the children of the Emerald Coast,” said Nathanael Fisher, producing artistic director of ECTC. “It is near and dear to our mission to provide these opportunities to our community.”

Little Rascals Camp encourages children to begin exploring the world of theater and is for children age 4- 1st grade. Lion King-themed classes begin in Destin on June 6, and in Santa Rosa Beach on July 11. Mermaids and Musketeers-themed classes will also begin in Santa Rosa Beach on June 6.

ECTC also offers a one week, non-musical version of Beauty and the Beast production camp for children entering grades 2-8. This camp runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with extended hours available in Santa Rosa Beach, Panama City, Crestview, Fort Walton Beach, and Destin with varying start dates beginning June 6.

Camp Showtime is for children grades 2-8 and focuses on Broadway music and choreography from popular musical numbers as well as theater games and improvisation. The camp will be offered in Destin, Panama City, and Santa Rosa Beach with varying start dates and times beginning June 6.

ECTC's two week musical, “Annie Jr.,” for children grades 3-9, will be held in Destin beginning June 13th and in Panama City on July 18th. The classes will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with extended hours available.

ECTC offers scholarships to assist with tuition for classes and camps.

"I am thrilled that we were recently able to offer four partial scholarships and one full scholarship for the 2016 spring educational classes. Everyone deserves to have access to the arts!" exclaimed Anna Fisher, associate artistic director of ECTC.

To learn more about these scholarships or to apply, visit ECTC’s website and view the Paul Londe Education and Scholarship Fund.

ECTC is also running an Instagram contest. To win a free week of summer camp, just tag ec_theatre_co with a picture of yourself or your child being “dramatic” with the hashtag #ECTCSummerOnStage. One winner will be selected on May 15.
