Emerald Coast Theatre Company Continues Holiday Tradition with "A Dickens Christmas"

Preformances from Destin to Panama City.

Tis the season to visit Ebenezer Scrooge!

Emerald Coast Theatre Company (ECTC) will present the second annual staging of “A Dickens Christmas” at five different venues along Northwest Florida’s Gulf coast throughout the month of December.

The first performance will be held in downtown Panama City, at Willows British Tea Room on Friday, December 4 at 7:30 p.m. and the following Fridays, December 11 and 18, at the Panama City Centre for the Arts, in partnership with the Bay Arts Alliance, at 7:30 p.m.

There will be five performances held at Destin’s Harborwalk Village. The performance schedule will be Saturday, December 5, 12, and 19 at 7:30 p.m. In addition, there will be a 2 p.m. show on December 12 and 19. The early performance on the December 12 will be slightly modified to accommodate special needs families. On Sunday, December 20, there will be two performances in Sandestin. First, at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, in the Bayview Room at 2 p.m. and the second at the Sunset Bay Café, at 6:30 p.m.

“A Dickens Christmas” is an adaptation of the Charles Dickens holiday classic “A Christmas Carol.” In this version, three actors will play multiple roles as they bring to life the tale of the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge and his transformational night with the three ghosts. It will be directed by ECTC’s Producing Artistic Director Nathanael Fisher.

“Dickens gives us the perfect story to celebrate the holidays and appreciate one another, said Fisher. “ECTC is happy to add to the warmth of the season in Northwest Florida with this classic tale.”

The three actors of this production will be Denis Milonas, Darla Briganti, and Brittany McLaughlin. Denis Milonas is a 29 year veteran of the stage having performed in more than 40 theatrical productions along the Emerald Coast. Darla Briganti was last seen on the ECTC stage playing the role of Dorothea in “Eleemosynary” and is thrilled to be reprising her role in “A Dickens Christmas.” Brittany is excited to be making her debut with ECTC. She is a Florida native and has a degree in Theatre Performance from the University of South Florida.

These performances are sponsored by Emerald Coast Magazine and Destin VIP Magazine, along with many other generous donors and sponsors.
